AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING AN ELECTION OFFICIAL
TO THE SPECIAL CANVASSING BOARD FOR THE SPECIAL
URBAN RENEWAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 18',
1967.
WHEREAS, Ray Gay, Dr. Charles R. Walker and B. N. Kiker
were appointed.to the Special Canvassing Board to canvas the
absentee ballots cast by mail in the special Urban Renewal
Election to be held in The City of Beaumont on November 18,
1967, said appointment being shown in Ordinance No. 67-58 of
The City of Beaumont; and the City Council now finds that Ray
Gay will be unable to serve in the capacity above stated; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the public interest
and general welfare require that another person be appointed to
fill the vacancy created by the inability of the above mentioned
person to fill his position as an election official;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF
BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Roy Gibbs is hereby appointed to the Special Canvassing
Board to count the absentee ballots cast by mail in the Special
Urban Renewal Election to be held in The City of Beaumont on
November 18, 1967, in the place of Ray Gay.
Section 2.
That Dr. Charles,R. Walker is appointed Presiding Judge of
the Special Canvassing Board above mentioned and B. N. Kiker and
Roy Gibbs are appointed election clerks.
PASSED by the City Council .this 14th day of November, 1967.
