AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF THE ALLEY
LOCATED BETWEEN BLOCK 4 OF THE DRAKE ADDITION & BLOCK 1 OF
THE PERKINS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, a petition duly signed by the Liberty
Royalty Corporation by Geo. D. Hodgson, bec., owner of Block
4 of the Drake Addition; C. B. Shepard, owner of Lots 1 & 3 to 61,
Block 1 of the Perkins Addition; Security State Bank and Trust
Company by Otis t Fullen, ,V.. Pres., owner of Lot. 29 Block 1 of
the Perkins Addition, owners of all the property located. in'.
Block 4 of the Drake Addition & Block1 of the 'Perkins Addition
to the City of Beaumont, abutting on said alley, has been pre-
sented to the City Commission of the City of Beaumont, requesting
that the said alley be vacated and closed.
IOW, ZEIEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the alley located between Block 4 of the Drake
Addition & Block 1 of the Perkins Addition to the City of Beaumont
be, and the same is hereby authorized to be vacated and closed,
and that the title to such alley shall revert to and become the
property of the respective owners of the land in said blocks bor-
dering on said alley, as provided by law; provided, however,
that the closing of this alley shall in no way affect the rights
of the City as to placing'and maintaining therein any sewer or
water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires,
poles or cables, or any other service or utility of the City, or
the right to grant franchises to gersons or corporations to
place and maintain therein any sewer or water lines, or telephone,
telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles or cables, or any
other service or utility of the City, all of which rights are
hereby reserved.
