ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF BEAT11ONT, JEFFERSON COUNTY,, TEXAS,
AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO
AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY
WITHIN SAID CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO ALL.
THE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE.RIGHTS
AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID
INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS, ORDINANCES, RESOLU-
TIONS AND REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, a petition has been signed by a majority
of the property owners who are citizens of the State of Texas
and inhabitants of the following described territory, to -wits
Beginning at the intersection of the North line
of the D. J. 0. Millard Survey, which is the South
line of the A. Williams Survey, with the West line
of Eleventh Street, said point being on the North
line of Block 58 of the Averill Addition to the
City of Beaumont produced westward 40 feet West
of the center line of Eleventh Street and being a
northwest corner of the present corporate limits
of the City of Beaumont;
Thence westward with the North line of the
D. J. 0, Millard Survey, and of the T. H. Lewis
Survey, and being the South line of the A. Williams
Survey to its intersection with the East boundary
line of the Calder Highlands Addition to the City
of Beaumont;
Thence southward with East boundary line of
the said Calder Highlands Addition to the North
line of the Noah Tevis Survey, vb.ich point is the
Northeast corner of Block 14 of Calder Place Addition
to the City of Beaumont;
Thence westward with the North boundary line
of the Noah Tevis Survey to its northwest corner;
Thence southward with the West boundary line of
the Noah Tevis Survey to the south right-of-way
of the Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western Railway;
Thence eastward with the original South right-
of-way line of the Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western
Railway to its intersection with the present western
corporate limit line of the City of Beaumont, said
corporate line being the West line of Eleventh
Street;
Thence northward with said corporate line of
the City of Beaumont to the place of beginning,
adjoining the City of Beaumont, and presented to the City
Commission desiring and requesting the annexation of said terri-
tory to said City; and,
WHEREAS, said petition has attached to it the affida-
vit of three (3) of said applicants to the effect that said
petition is signed by a majority of the qualified voters within
and owning such property.
NOWO THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the following described property, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the North
line of the D. J. 0, Millard Survey, which is the
South line of the A. Williams Survey, with the West
line of Eleventh Street, said point being on the
North line of Block 58 of the Averill Addition to
the City of Beaumont produced westward 40 feet
West of the center line of Eleventh Street and being
a Northwest corner of the present corporate limits
of the City of Beaumont;
Thence westward with the North line of the D. J.
0. Millard Survey, and of the T. H. Lewis Surveys and
being the South line of the A. Williams Survey to
its intersection with the East boundary line of the
Calder Highlands Addition to the City of Beaumont;
Thence southward with East boundary line of
the said Calder Highlands Addition to the North
line of the Noah Tevis Survey, which point is the
northeast corner of Block 14 of Calder Place
Addition to the City of Beaumont;
Thence westward with the North boundary line
of the Noah Tevis Survey to its northwest corner;
Thence southward with.the West boundary line
of the Noah Tevis Survey to the South right of way
of the Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western Railway;
Thence eastward with the original South right -
of -fray line of the Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western
Railway to its intersection with the present western
corporate limit line of the City of Beaumont, said
corporate line being the West line of Eleventh Street;
Thence northward with said corporate line of
the City of Beaumont to the place of beginning,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Beaumonts
Jefferson County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the
City of Beaumont be and the same are hereby extended to
include the above described territory within the city limits
of the City of Beaumont, and the same shall hereafter be
included within the territorial limits of said City, and
the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all
rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of
Beaumont and they shall be bound by the acts, ordinances,
resolutions and regulations of said City.
