HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 23-MAN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT A CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE A. WILLIAMS SURVEY IN JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE KNOWN AS ID=VIOOD ESTATES AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAT MONT, AND RECOG- NIZING AND ACCEPTING CERTAIN STREETS AND AVENUES IN SAID ADDITION DEDICATED TO SAID CITY BY THE OWNERS OF SAID TRACT OF LAND. WHEREAS, Arthur A. Dunn and N. 0. Richardson are the owners of a certain tract of land out of the" A. Williams Survey in Jefferson County, Texas, lying adjacent to and Northwest of the present.city limits of the City of Beaumont, Texas, to be hereafter known as "IDYLWOOD ESTATES" an addition to the City of Beaumont' Texas; and, WHEREAS, the said Arthur A. Dumm and N. 0. Richardson heretofore filed a petition with the City Commission of the said city requesting that the said territory be annexed to the City of Beaumont, Texas, in conformity with Section 4 of the Charter of the City of Beaumont; and, WHEREAS, the said Arthur A. Dumm and N. 0. Richardson have also tendered to the City Commission of the City of Beaumont a deed and plat, by the terms of which certain streets are dedicated to said city and the public; and, WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Beaumont deeming it advisable and advantageous to said city to annex said territory, has resolved to grant said petition of the above named parties and accept said dedication deed and plat, and by the terms of this ordinance annex said property to said City of Beaumont, Texas. - 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUNIONT, TEKAS: That all of that certain tract or parcel. of land out of the A. Williams Survey in Jefferson County, Texas, lying Northwest of and adjacent to the present city limits of said city, and to be hereafter known as "IDYLWOOD ESTATES" an addition to said city, be, and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Beaumont, Texas, said tract of land being more particularly described as follows, to -wit: A part of the A. Williams Survey, out of what is designated as Block Number Nineteen (19) and the West 1.504 acres of Block Number Eighteen (18) of the J. B. Langham Subdivision of said A. Williams Survey, and described as follows, to -wit: FIRST TRACT: Beginning at the intersection of South line of Ash Street with the West line of Tenth Street; Thence South with the West line of Tenth Street 300 feet to a point where the same intersects the North line of Gladys Street; Thence West with the North line of -Gladys Street 738.11 feet to a point where said line inter- sects the East line of the new location of Eleventh Street;, Thence North with said line 300.8 feet to a point where same intersects the South line of Ash Street; Thence East with the South line of Ash Street 737.85 feet to the place of beginning, containing 5.082 acres. SECOND TRACT: Beginning at a point where the South line of Gladys Street intersects the Nest line of Tenth Street;, Thence South with the West line of Tenth Street 22101 feet to stake in said line for corner; Thence West parallel with the North line of Evalon Street 605.26 feet to stake for corner; Thence South 5.4 feet to stake for corner; Thence Vilest 133.1 feet to stake for corner in the East line of the new location of Eleventh Street; Thence North with said line 223.2 feet to the intersection of said line with the South line of Gladys Street; Thence East with said South line of Gladys Street 738.17 feet to the place of beginning, containing 3.787 acres. - 3 IT IS FURTHER ORDAINED by the City Commlission of the City of Beaumont, that said tract of land shall hereafter be kszown as "IDYLtiV00D ESTATES", an addition to the City of Beaumont and that said dedication deed and plat heretofore tendered to the City of Beaumont by the said Arthur A. Dumm and N® 0. Richardson be, and the same hereby is in all things accepted and the title to the streets and avenues referred to in said deed and plat shall hereafter be vested in the City of Beaumont to be held in trust for the public, and shall be opened and improved at such a time in the future as may be deemed advisable by said City. Rich- ardson, further represent that they are tendering herewith a deed and plat dedicating certain streets in said addition to the said City of Beaumont, for the use of the public and that it is their desire that said tract of land be annexed to the City of Beaumont; WH REFORE, your petitioners respectfully request that the above described tract of land be immediately annexed to the City of Beaumont, and that such ordinances and resol utions, be passed and that such other action as may be neces- sary be taken to make such annexation.
