WHEREAS, a petition duly signed by J. S. Chases
owner of iv 1/2 of Lot 3 and S 1/2 of Lot 4; A.A. Shears
owner of Lot 1 and. S 1/2 of Lot 2; W. P. St nes owner
of Lot 21 and S 1/2 of Lot 20; Mrs. E. L. Meley, owner
of Lot 14 and N 1/4 of Lot 15; Mrs. W. H. Lands owner
of S 3/4 of Lot 15 and N 1/2 of Lot 16; G. _ E. Plumly,

abutting on said alley, has been presented to the City
Commission of the City of Beaumont, requesting that the
said alley be vacated and closed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIIIED BY THE CITY COM1dISSIOii
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the alley located in Block Nine (9) of the
Ogden Addition to the City of Beaumont be, and the same is
hereby authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the
title to such alley shall revert to and become the property
of the respective owners of the land in said block bordering
on said alley, as provided by law; provided, however, that
the closing of this alley shall in no way affect the rights
of the City as to placing and maintaining therein any sewer
or water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines,
wires, poles or cables, or any other service or utility of
the City., or the right to grant franchises to persons or cor-
porations to place and maintain therein any such sewer or
water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines,
wires, poles or cables, or any other service or utility of
the City, all of which rights are hereby reserved,
PASSED this the day of April, A.D. 1940.
