HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 49-A-2AN ORDINANCE Togulating the ot•orage and sale of gun powder, blasting powder, dynamite and other explosive substances, gasoline oil, kerosene oil, turpentine oil of vitrioll, aquafortes or other liquid s of a combustible nature, and the conveyance of gun powder, blastin powder or dynamite, and providing penalties for the violation thereof. BE I T ORDAINED by the City Oouncil of the City of Beaumont: SEC. 1. That no person, firm or corporation shall keep on hand for sale or otherwise, within the limits of the City of Beaumont, in any one house, store, shop or building of any char- acter whatever, or on.the premises connected therewith,more than fifteen gallons in all of gasoline oil, or more than one hundred gallons in all of kerosene or other oil or compound which is ex- plosive.,-:,02? xplosive,=or more than fifty gallons in all of turpentine,oil of vitriol , aquafortes or other liquid of a combustible nature, un - lass in a fire proof magazine; the erection of which is rermit- ted and recognized by resolution of the City Council. SEP. 2. That no person, firm or corporation shall sell or .�tts�:�t��5 expose for sale any illuminating oil or gas( In the i:dght time by artificial light, such as candle, lamp or gas. SEC. 3. That no person, firm or corporation shall keep n hand for sale or otherwise, within the. limits of the City, q eaumont, in any one, hoube; store, yshop or building of any kind r characterwrlatevera o:r upon the premises con_:ected therewith, ore. than fifty pounds of gun powder or blasting powder , dyna- to or other explosive substances, provided that this quanti- y shall be at 8.11 times kept in a safe and secure box or can ster c✓omkPlotely closed, SEC. 4.
