AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF
THE ALLEY RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH IN BLOCK
THIRTY-FIVE (35) OF THE ARLINGTON ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF BEADMONT.
WHEREAS, a petition duly signed by C. P.
Evans, owner of Lots 1, 21 4 and 5; 71 82 9, and 10
and 11; R. Lee Carr, owner of Lot 3; Mrs. M. A.
Clampitt, owner of Lot 6 and The Orange Investment
Company, Inc., owner of Lots 18 and 19, all in Block
35 of the Arlington Addition to the City of Beaumont
abutting on said alley, has been presented to the
City Commission of the City of Beaumont requesting
that the said alley be vacated and closed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
That the alley located in Block Thirty-five
(35) of the Arlington Addition to the City of Beaumont
and running North and South in said Block, be, and the
same is hereby authorized to be vacated and closed and
that the title to such alley shall revert to and become
the property of the respective owners of the land in
said block bordering on said alley, as provided by law;
provided, however, that the closing of this alley shall
in no way affect the rights of the City as to placing
-and maintaining therein any sewer or water lines, or
telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles
or cables, or any other service or utility of the City,
or the right to grant franchises to persons or corpora-
tions to place and maintain therein any such sewer or
water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines,
wires, poles or cables, or any other service or utility
of the City, all of which rights are hereby reserved.
