HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 30-A-2An Ordinance to amend sections 1 and 11 of an ordinance adopted and passed at a called session of the City Council of the City of Beaumont, on August 3rd, 1904, entitled " An Ordinance to regulate the location of Slaughter Houses, Bone Boilers, Soap making establishments, brick yards, livery stables, horse lots and stock yards and pens, and providing a penalty for the violation of same" and declaring an emergency. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Beaumont, that section 1 of the foregoing ordinance shall -and is hereby amended so as to hereafter read as follows: Section 1 It shhll be un lawful for any person, firm, corporat- ion or association of persons to establish, maintain or openate any slaughter house, bone boiler, or soap making establishment within the corporate limits of the City of Beaumont, without first obtain- ing a permit from the City Council. Section 2 The term "Slaughter House, shall include any enclosure where any animal or animals are slaughtered. Whereas, a great many o the citizens of Beaumont are and have been for the past two years unwittingly maintaining their barn business and establishments in violation of existing ordinances, thereby creating a public necessity and emergency that the rule requiring that all ordinandes be read at three regular meetings of the City Council be suspended, it is therefore anacted.that this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passa1ge and approval by the _ Mayor..
