.AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF THE ALLEY
LO GATED IN BLOCK NUMBER 31 OF THE AVERILL ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, a petition duly signed by H. S. Taylor, Mrs.
H. S. Taylor, Jef C. Russell, Ernest Robertson, J. B. Hooks,
Mrs. Raoul Mueller, J. Alexander Mashall, H. C. Cunningham, W.C.
Wells, VT. P. H. McFaddin, and H. Grady Prather, owners of all
the property located in Block 31 of the Averill Addition to the
City of Beaumont abutting on said alley, has been presented to
the City Commission of the City of Beaumont, requesting that the
said alley be vacated and closed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
That the alley located in Block Number 31 of the
Averill Addition to the City of Beaumont be, and the same is
hereby authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title to
such alley shall revert to and become the property of the respect-
ive owners of the land in said block bordering on said alley, as
provided by law; provided, however, that the closing of this alley
shall in no way affect the rights of the City as to placing and
maintaining therein of any sewer or water lines, or telephone,
l telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles, or cables, or any other
service or utility of the City, or the right to grant franchises to
persons or corporations to place and maintain therein any such sew-
er or water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, awes,
poles, or cables, or any other service or utility of the City, all
of which rights are hereby reserved.
Passed this the/9th day of February, A. D. 1932.
