An Ordinance Amending the First Section of the ordinance granting the
Right of Way and other privileges on the Streets of the City
of Beaumont to Edward Kennedy, A. C. Rush, .and their as—
sociates and assigns for the building, egia.ipping, main—
tenance and operation of an electric street railway.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Beaumont:
Section One.
That the first section of the Ordinance grantimg the right of way
and other privileges on the streets of the City of Beaumont to Edward
Kennedy, A. C. Rush,their associates and assigns, for the building,
equipping, maintenance and operation of an electric street railway,
passed on, the first day of October, 1901, be, and the same is hereby
amended as to hereafter read as follows:
----lst-: -- - -That -the--Cit Council of the City of Beaumont hereby
grants to Edward Kennedy, A. C. Rush and such other persons as may now
or hereafter be associated with them in the organization and ineorpor—
ation of a Company ender the laws of the State of Texas, to construct,
maintain and operate an electric street railway in the City of Beaumont
Texas,their heirs successors or assigns, the right of way, with the
privilege of laying, using, constructing, maintaining and operating a
single track railway'

for the purpose of operating an electric street railway and
carrging and transporting thereon passengersf United States Avails and,
Express pAgkages and such other commodities as the 'Management of said
street railway may deep necessary for public convenience and for the
advantageous operation of said street railway in said City of Beau—
vont, for the period of fifty years from the date of the passage of
grants to Edward Kennedy, A. C. Rush and such other persons as may now
or hereafter be associated with them in the organization and incorpor-
ation of a Company ender the laws of the State of Texas; to construct,
maintain and operate an electric street railway in the City of Beaumont
Texas,their heirs successors or assigns, the right of way, with the
privilege of laying, using, constructing, maintaining and operating a
single track railway
for the purpose of operating an electric street railway and
carrging and transporting thereon passengersf United States Mails and,
-Express packages and such other commodities as the Management of said
street railway may deem necessary for public convenience and for the
advantageous operation of said street railway in said City of Beau-
mont, for the period of fifty years from the date of the passage of
this ordinance, through, over, along and upon the streets hereinafter
named of the City of Beaumont, subject to securing the consent of the
