AN ORDINANCE
CHANGING THE NAMES OF
Part of Spruce Avenue to Live Oak Avenue;
Austin Street to Blanchette Street; and dedicating
and naming new parts of Blanchette Street, Archie
Avenue and Gray Street;
WHEREAS, confusion would be avoided and the numbering
and location of houses would be facilitated, and the public
convenience subserved by changing the name of a portion of Spruce
Avenue as herein provided, by changing the name of Austin Street,
and by designating, naming and dedicating new parts of Blanchette
Street, Archie Avenue and Gray Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COIVMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the name of Spruce Avenue, an avenue in the City of -
Beaumont, Texas, from the east line of the G. C. & S. F. right of

way along its course eastwardly to the south line of Live Oak Ave-
nue produced to the north line of McFaddin Heights Addition, be,
and the same is hereby changed to Live Oak Avenue, and from and
after the passage of this ordinance, the name of that portion of
Spruce Avenue here described shall be Live Oak Avenue.
Section 2.
That the name of Austin_ Street, a street in the City of
Beaumont, Texas, from the east end thereof at the east line of
Main Street along its entire course in a westward direction to
what is known.as "Weaver Line", be, and the same is hereby chang-
ed to Blanchette Street, and from and after the passage of this
ordinance, the name of said street shall be Blanchette Street.
Section 3.
That there is hereby named, designated and dedicated to
the use of the public a new and additional street beginning at
the `Weaver Line', mentioned in Section 2 hereof, which is the
west Cnnd of Austin Street, as at present located-, thence westerly

along and on the property now owned by the City of Beaumont for
that purpose, to the east line of the O'Brien Addition in Beau -
moat, Texas, said street having a width of 4o feet and which
street shall be known as Blanchette Street, and which new street
in connection with Austin Street, the name of which is herein
changed, and in connection with 33lanchette Street, as at present
located, will constitute a continuous street from the east line
of Main Street to the present westerly end of Blanchette Street,
Section 4.
That there is hereby designated, named and dedicated to
the use of the public a new and additional portion of Archie Ave-
nue in the City of Beaumont, Texas, which new portion of such
Avenue begins at the south line of Franklin Street and extends in
a southerly direction to the north line of Blanchette Street, as
above designated, which new portion of said Avenue is 60 feet
wide, and shall hereafter be known as, and become a part of,
Archie Avenue,
Section 5.
That there is hereby designated, named and dedicated to
the use of the public a neer and additional portion of Gray Street
in Beaumont, Texas, which new portion of said street begins at
the north line of Emett Avenue and extends in a northerly direc-
tion to the south line of Blanchette Street, as above designated,
which new portion of said street is 60 feet wide and shall here-
after be known as Gray Street.
Passed by the affirmative vote of all members of the City
Commission, this thelLday of May, A. D. 1933.
