AND PRIVATE PROPERTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
SECTION FIRST.
That the .Citi- of Beaumont does hereby grant to W.. Scott Heywood,
Dewey Heywood, William Griffin and J. 'L. Chaddock,\ ,and to such .other per-
sons firms or associations as ma72- hereafter become associated with them,
or to such company as they may organize for the purpose of _ s.uppjying gas
or oil to the City of Beaumont, the right to .lay, 'construct and maintain
pipes of.•any description found necessary for -the purpose of convey'ing has
or oil from any gas or oil wells as they may see proper, tothe Cit -r of.
Beaumont, to be used for any and all, purposes to which gas and oil can be
applied or used... -_
SECTION SECOND*,.
I't is further ordained that,, the' saidC. ' Scott Heywood,
Dewey Heywood'

Tillimu Griffin and J. L. Chaddock/shall "have, the right .to use .any and all
of the streets and alleys and p.gblic grounds ,of the City of Beaumont with-
in the .present cit=% limits and all additions that may be hereafter taken
in fhe city limits for the purpose of laying pipes for! the .conveying gas
and oil for the full period of Fifty Years on,.the terms 'and conditions
herein presc ribed.
SECTION THIRD.
Be it further ordained that the saidlWe Scott Heywood, Dewey
Hey-wo.od, William Griffin and J. L. Chaddock,�';•or their assigns; shall have
the right at any time to connect. ,vith any pipes 'that they shall have laid
into any factories, business houses of. all descriptions and of whatever
kind,or private houses that they may see proper,' for the . purpose of fur-
nishing gas or oil for any purpose it may be used and that they shall have
the right to charge a reasonable sun therefor.

SEC `�I01T FOURTH.
Be it further ordained that a.?- pipes of any and every descrip-
tion laid shall be under the direction and supervision of the Chairman of
the 'Street and Bridge Committee and that said pipes shall be laid in all
instances so as to preserve street grades according to the authorities
of the City.
SEC'�I011 FIFTH.
That this ordinance shall b e in full force and effect from and
after its passage.
