Regulating -the placing and stringing of telegraph, t5lephoneAand elec-
tric light wires, and providing for a penalty for the violation thereof.
Be It Ordanied by the City Council of the City ofB eaumont:-
SECTION I. ..
That it 'gla,l1 be unlawful for any person, firm -or corporation, th6ir
employes or agents to hang, string or place in position any telegraph,
telephone or electric light wire -or any wire through which currents of
electricity are conducted on array pole or structure less than 20 feet in
height`,;above the ground and such wire shall be so strung, hung and placed
that nopartof shch wire shall be nearer, the earth than 20 feet exeept
the following wires, -to -wit: -
(1) Trolley and span wires shall not be less than 14 ft. from

(2) $ervi,cg wires running into buildings shall be as high as
the building will permit consistent with good service.
SECTION II.
There shall always be a space of not less than three feet between any wire
carrying a high tension current and all other belonging to a dif-
ferent firm, person or corporation#-providesaid wires are on tie same
pole a distance of 18 inches- shall be -sufficient, and provided further
that all wires shall be so guarded that they will not come in contact
with any.wire below. By the term,sthigh tension, is meant a wire car -

. 'SECTION III.
This ordinance shall not be. -construed as-applying-to.any telephone, tel-
egraph or other electric wire which -may be piced under ground but all
companys now using and operating wires on poles -carrying electric cur-
rents in this City shall adjust its wires,to conform to thi-s--ordinance
within 12 months from its passage and publication.
SECTION IV.

firm, person or corporation, or their employes, agents or servants in
charge of such work, shall have the right to. trim said tree or trees

_ SECTION VI.
Any person, firm or corporation., or the employes, agents or servants of
any such person, firm or corporation wilfully violating any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-demeantand
upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $100.00.
SECTION VII.
All ordinances
and parts of ordinances
in conflict hereof hereby re-
pealed.
