OF SAID STREET; REBEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES AN DRESOLUTIONS. IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND DE- CLA.RING AN- EMERGENCYs NOW, THEREFORE,' BE - IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION' OF, THE C ITY OF BEAT3MONT, TEXAS SECTION 1. That Park Street shall be and'the same is hereby ex- tended from its present northerly terminus at Crockett Street,- Northward with a width of'sixty (60) feet to an intersection with Willow Street, the center line of such extension to be -a 'Northerly prolongation of the -center line of Park Street, as the same exists between Crockett ,and Bowie. Streets,. and .upon and across the property of the Texas & New Orleans Railroad Company to the North Boundary of same; thence across Laurel.Avenue and so .much of Lots No. 7 and No. Calder Addition 8, Block No. 1941/ as may be necessary to a junction with Willow Street, the width of said street across the Railroad property to be thirty (30),feet on each side of said 'Center -line's all of said extensi_ori being more fu11y- shown by plat now on file in the office' of the -City. Engineers' Beaumont, Texas; the grade line of the said street shall.be fixed by the, City Engineer, but said grade line shall meet the grade of the main tracks , and the side track immediately South thereof of. said Railroad, Company, as -provided in the said Contract and Easement Deed hereinafter set forth. City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to execute said instrument on behalf of the City of Beaumont, and to deposit the funds in said deed required, SECTION 3. The Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Beaumont, heretofore passed, authorizing the opening of Park Street across the property of the Texas & New Orleans Railroad Company and instructing the City Attorney of the City of Beaumont to institute condemnation proceedings against said Railroad for a strip of land sixty:(60) feet in width, extending from the North end of Park Street to join with Alamo Street, is hereby repealed and all legal proceedings instituted by the City of'Beaumont for the purpose of acquiring said land by condennation shall be dismissed at the cost of the City, and the City Attorney of the City of'Beaumont,is hereby directed,and ordered to see that said proceedings are dismissed. SECTION 4. The .fact of the congested -condition of traffic and the . urgent need of extending and opening Park Street, in order.to relieve said congested condition, to promote public safety, creates an imperative public necessity,requiring. the suspension of, the rule providifig that ordinances shall be read on three separate days before final passage. Wherefore, such rule is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall takeeffect from and after the date of its passage* Passed by the affirmative vote of all members of the City Commission of the City of Beaumont on this the 27th day of IVlarch, 'A.
