ORDERING THE GENERAL -MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR THE. CITY
OF BEAUMONT FOR THE YEAR 1934, AS PROVIDED BY -THE CHARTER OF
CITY OF , .ON THE, -DATE AND "AT THE PLACE SET FORTH
IN SAID ORDINANCE,' FOR, PURPOSE OF ELECTING.A MAYOR -,AND NINE
COUNCILMEN AS DESIGNATED.IN SAID;ORDINANCE; NAMING=THE.PLACES
AT WHICH SAID .ELECTION -SHALL BE HELD AND -DESIGNATING THE PLACES
x --WHERE THE VOTERS SHALL VOTE';- AND--DECLARING'AST EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE. CITY -COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:,
Section 1.
'That:in accordance with'Section 26, Sub -section 4,'of
the Charter of the City of Beaumont and other --provisions of
said -Charter, and -the laws of the State of Texas relating_ there-
to., .there shall be' held in the City ,of Beaumont on -the first
.Tuesday in April, 1934, the same being the 3rd day of April,
A. D.-_ 1934, a regular -municipal election for said City for the
purpose of electing a' mayor- and for the purpose --of electing
three councilmen for -.the First Ward, three councilmen for the
Second Ward, - and- three councilmen for the Third Ward in said
Section 2. _
That said election.shall be held in the City of Beaumont`
in the _ following .places, to -wit:
In the First Ward at the Central , Fire Station.
- In- the . Second. Ward at. -the City Hall.
In, the. Third Ward --at the .Sabine Pass Fire Station.,
and South Park Elementary School Building.
That all voters residing in County voting -precincts
Numbers "l, :2, 3, 4- 6 and Tin the City= shall vote at .Central
Fire Station:; .. that all . voters, residing :inCounty voting precincts
-Numbers 51 8 -.and 9 in the City -shall" vote -at the City Hall; that
all voters residing in County voting`precincts.Numbers.l0, 11,
12' 1&' and 14- in :the City shall -vote at- Sabine Pass Avenue Fire
Station; -that..all voters residing in County -voting precincts-
-Numbers 15, -16-. and 17 -in -the C ity - shall vote at South Park
Elemeritary School.

Section 3.
The following named -persons are -appointed presiding
judges,.for their respective voting boxes-in.said wards, with
the authority to select and appoint -their own clerks:
At the Central Fire Station` "W. S. Siler
At the City Hai l S.� E. Bigham
At the Sabine Pass Fire Station Mrs. Bon Pipkin
At the South Park Elementary
School Building T. A. Allen
Section 4..
That said election shall be held -under, and"the' quali-
fications of those voting thereat shall be controlled by; the
provisions of the State Laws governing election.
Section 5.
That a -copy of this -ordinance signed b y -the Mayor of
the -City of Beaumont, and attested by the City Clerk :thereof
shall serve as .proper and sufficient notice of said _election;
and the Mayor is hereby directed to cause a' -copy of this ordin-
ance., signed, by himself and, attested by ,the City Clerk," to be
posted at each of the places.herein designated for holding said
election,at"least thirty (30). days prior.to the date of"holding
said election.
Section 6.
That an ordinance has not yet been passed providing for
and ordering a general municipal election for the year 1934, and
that such ordinance is necessary, thereby creating an imperative
public -emergency necessitating the suspension of.the rule requir-
ing. ordinances to -be read on three - separate days before their
passage; wherefore, said rule.is hereby suspended and this ordin-
ance -shall take.effect from and after its passage and the signa-
- tune of "the Mayor.
Passed by the. affirmative vote of all members "of the
City Commission, this the 28th day of February, A. D. 1934.
