AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF THE ALLEY
LOCATED IN BLOCK NUMBER FIFTY (50) OF THE JEF CHAISON SECOND
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.
WHEREAS, a petition duly signed by H. H. Merritt,
W. E. LaForge, E. E. Young, Jef Chaison Townsite Co. by Chas.
J. Chaison, President, W. F. Byerly, Carl Belikan, Weber
Guillot, J. V. Brock, Trustee, and G. D. Bennedetto, owners
of all the property located in Block Number Fifty (50) of the
Jef Chaison Second Addition to the City of Beaumont, abutting
on said alley, has been presented to the City Commission of
the City of Beaumont, requesting that the said alley be vacated
and closed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT :
That the alley located in Block Number Fifty (50) of
the Jef Chaison Second Addition to the City of Beaumont, be,
and the same is, hereby authorized to be vacated and closed,
and that the title to such alley shall revert to and become
the property of the respective owners of the land in said block
bordering on said alley, as provided by law; provided, however,
that the closing of this alley shall in no way affect the rights
of the City as to placing and maintaining therein of .any sewer
or water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines,
wires, poles, or cables, or any other service or utility of the
City, or the right to grant franchises to persons or corporations
to place and maintain therein any such sewer or water lines, or
telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles, or cables,
or any other service or utility of the City, all of which rights
are hereby reserved.

The undersigned, constituting all of the owners
of property situated in Block number Fifty. (50) of the Jef Chai son
Second Addition to the City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
do hereby petition your honorable body to pass an ordinance closing
the alley in said block number Fifty and causing the title to the
land where the alley is situated to revert to the resppective property
owners, each according to his land abutting on sale a11ey.`
