AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE VACATING AND CLOSING OF THE ALLEY LOCATED
IN BLOCK NUTIIBER THREE -A (3-A) OF THE N. W. CHAISON ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF BEAU1140NT..
l;iHEREAS, a petition duly signed by 1"J. T. Wherry, C. H.
Black, Mrs. J. B. Stamps, J. P. Phillip, W. J. Phillip, 0. M.
Colville, I. D. Addilson, J. H. Spears, Mrs. J. 0. Hoffman, C.A.
Patton, and C. E. Locke, owners of all the property located in
Block Number Three -A (3-A) of the 11J. W. Chaison Addition to the
City of Beaumont, abutting on said alley, has been presented to
the City Commission of the City of Beaumont, requesting that the
said alley be vacated and closed.
NOW, THEREFO It^, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BEAU1,1ONT:
That the alley located in Block Number Three -A (3-A) of
the W. W. Cha.ison Addition to the. City of Beaumont, be and the same
is hereby authorized to be vacated and closed, and that the title
to such alley shall revert to and becomethe property of the respective
owners of the land in said block bordering on said alley, as provided
by law; provided; however, that the closing of this alley shall in
no way affect the rights of the City as to placing and maintaining
therein of any sewer or water lines, or telephone, telegraph, or
electric lines, wires, poles, or cables, or any other service or
utility of the City, or the right to grant franchises to persons or
corporations to place and maintain therein any such sewer or water
lines, or telephone, telegraph, or electric lines, wires, poles, or
cables, or any other service or utility of the City, all of which
rights are hereby reserved.

Addition be closed in the manner as permitted by the statutes of
the State of Texas, and that. such alley become the absolute pro-
perty of- the oiners of the land -.n said block- adjacent and abutt-

of this alley shall in:no way affect the rights of the City as to
