ORDERIIJG THE GENERAL riiUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR THE
CITY OF BEkUh�iONT FOR THE YEAR 1935, AS PROVIDED BY THE CHARTER
OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, ON THE DATE AND AT THE PLACE SET FORTH
IN MAID ORDIli Ah CE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELLCTINGI-SIX COUNCILEIEN
AS DESIGNATED IN SAID ORDINANCE, EP ING THE PLACES AT WHICH
SAID ELECTION SHALL BE HELD AND DESIGN..TING THL PLACES WHERE

Section 1
That in accordance with Section 26, Sub -section 4,
of the Charter of the City of Beauroont and other provisions of
said Charter, and the laws of the State of Texas relating there-
to, there shall be held in the City of Beaumont on the first
Tuesday in April, 1935, the same being the 2nd day of April,
A. D. 1935, a regular municipal election for said City for the
purpose of electing -.two councilmen for the First 4rard, two
councilmen for the Second Ward, and tv:-o councilmen for the
Third ", a.rd in said City.
Section 2
That said election shall be held in the City of
Beaumont in the following places, to -wit. -
In the First ?-lard at the nverill-School
Building and Central Fire Station.
In the Second 'ard at the City Hall.
In the Third t,-:ard at the �;a.bine Pass Fire
Station, and South Park Elementary School
Building.
Tl at all voters residing in County voting precincts
numbers 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 in the City shall vote at Central Fire
Station; that all voters residing in County voting precinct num-
ber 4 in the City shall vote at the Averill School Building; that
all voters residing in County voting precincts .numbers 5, 8 and
9 in the City shall vote at the City Hall: that all voters resid-
ing in County voting precincts numbers 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 in
the City shall vote at Sabine Pass Fire Station: and that all
voters residing in County voting precincts numbers 15, 16 and
17 in the City shall vote at South Park Elementary School
Building.
Section 3
The following named persons are appointed pre-
siding judges for their respective voting boxes in said wards,
with tkie--authority to select and appoint their own clerks,

Section 4
That said election shall be held under, and the
qualifications of those voting thereat shell be controlled by,
the provisions of the State Laws governing elections.
Section 5
That a copy of this ordinance signed by the
Tuayor of the City of Beaumont, and attested by the City Clerk
thereof shall serve as proper and sufficient notice of said
election; and the Mayor is hereby directed to cause a copy of
this ordinance, signed -by himself and attested by the City
Clerk, to be posted at each of the place=s herein designated
for holding said election at least thirty (30) days Prior to
the date of holding said election.
Section 6
That an ordinance has not yet be,: -n passed pro-
viding for and ordering a general municipal election for the
year 1935, and that such ordinance is necessary, thereby
creating an imperative public emergency necessitating the
suspension of the rule requiring ordinances to be reed on three
separate days before their passage; wherefore, said rule is
hereby suspended and this ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage and the signature of the iaayor.
Passed by the affirmative vote of all members
of the City Co -rami ssion, this the 26th day of February, 1935.
