WHEREAS, bids were received for a two (2) year contract for the repair of
damaged curbs and gutters at various locations throughout the City prior to street
resurfacing and rehabilitation; and,
WHEREAS, Excavation and Construction, LLC, of Port Arthur, Texas, submitted
a bid in the estimated amount of $206,857.00, as shown on Exhibit 'A" attached hereto;
and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Excavation
and Construction, LLC, of Port Arthur, Texas, is the lowest responsible bidder providing
the best value to the City and should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the bid submitted by Excavation and Construction, LLC, of Port Arthur,
Texas, for a two (2) year contract for the curb and gutter repair of street rehabilitation
projects in the estimated amount of $206,857.00, as shown on Exhibit "A," attached
hereto, be accepted by the City of Beaumont; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute a contract with Excavation and Construction, LLC for the
purposes described herein.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.

August, 2018.
