ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 08-048 TO REVISE THE BOUNDARIES OF
NEIGHBORHOOD EMPOWERMENT ZONE #4 TO
INCLUDE PROPERTY AT 2020 COTTONWOOD.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 08-048 passed on June 17, 2008, the City Council
of the City of Beaumont designated Neighborhood Empowerment Zones #3 and #4;
and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to amend the boundaries of
Neighborhood Empowerment Zone #4 to include property located at 2020 Cottonwood,
currently occupied by the Beaumont Housing Authority's Concord Homes development,
as described in Exhibit "A" and shown on Exhibit "B" attached hereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT Ordinance 08-048 be and the same is hereby amended to revise the
boundaries of Neighborhood Empowerment Zone #4 to include. property located at 2020
Cottonwood, currently occupied by the Beaumont Housing Authority's Concord Homes
development as described in Exhibit "A" and shown on Exhibit "B" attached hereto.
The meeting at which this ordinance was approved was in all things conducted in
strict* compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.

December, 2017.
Legal Description of 2017 Addition to
Neighborhood Empowerment Zone Four
From a Point of Beginning (POB) at the north r.o.w. line of Plum Street at the southwest corner of
Tract 36, Plat A-14, J Drake Addition and then going westward along the north r.o.w. line of Plum
Street to the east boundary of the r.o.w. of the BNSF railroad;
Hence southeastward to the north r.o.w. line of Cottonwood Street and then going northeastward
along the north r.o.w line of Cottonwood Street to the east r.o.w. line of St. Helena Street;
Hence northward to the north r.o.w. line of Plum Street and the Point of Beginning (POB).
