WHEREAS, on October 26, 2017, three (3) bids were received for furnishing all
labor, materials, equipment, and supplies for the Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation
Work Order Contract; and,
WHEREAS, the City Water Utilities Engineer evaluated the three (3) bids and
found the lowest bid received to be incomplete as per the contract documents supplied
to all interested bidders and two (2) bids were over the Engineer's estimate; and,
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of City of Beaumont Water Utilities
Engineering Division to reject the bids and that the project be rebid at a later date; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is not in the best interest of the citizens of
Beaumont to accept the bid's for the Sanitary Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Work Order
Contract and that each should be rejected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Council does hereby reject the bids for the Sanitary Sewer
Manhole Rehabilitation Work Order Contract.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
