WHEREAS, on November 9, 2017, two (2) bids were received for furnishing all
labor, materials, equipment, and supplies for the Chlorination Contact Chamber
Rehabilitation Project; and,
WHEREAS, the City Water Utilities Engineer and Chica & Associates, Inc.
evaluated the two (2) bids received and found them to be excessively high in cost
compared to the Engineer's estimate for the project; and,
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of City of Beaumont Water Utilities
Engineering Division and Chica & Association, Inc. to reject the bids and that the project
be rebid at a later date; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is not in the best interest of the citizens of
Beaumont to accept the bids for the Chlorination ,Contact Chamber Rehabilitation
Project and that each should be rejected;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Council does hereby reject the bids for the Chlorination Contact
Chamber Rehabilitation Project.
The meeting at which this resolution was approved was in all things conducted in
strict compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter
551.
