WHEREAS, bids were solicited for a one (1) year contract, with an option to
renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, for insurance broker services on
behalf of the City of Beaumont for all property insurance related services; and,
WHEREAS, Higginbotham d/b/a Talon Insurance submitted a bid in the amount
of $40,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that it is in the best interest of the
citizens of the City of Beaumont that the bid submitted by Higginbotham d/b/a Talon
Insurance should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Higginbotham d/b/a Talon Insurance for a one (1) year
contract, with an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods, for
insurance broker services for all City of Beaumont property insurance related services in
the amount of $40,000.00 be accepted by the City of Beaumont; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute a contract with Higginbotham d/b/a Talon Insurance, of
Nederland, Texas, for the purposes described herein.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 14th day of
February, 2017.

The initial term of the contract is for one (1) year with options to renew for two (2) additional one (1)
