HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 16-210RESOLUTION NO. 16-210 WHEREAS, on October 6, 2015, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas approved Resolution No. 15-221 approving annual contracts to four (4) vendors for mowing privately -owned developed and vacant properties; and, WHEREAS, the contracts were for one (1) year with an extension of two (2) additional one (1) year terms; and, WHEREAS, the bid specifications divided the City into four (4) sections with each section awarded to one (1) contractor; and, WHEREAS, on October 2, 2016, after one (1) year of service, Gulf Coast L&L declined to extend their agreement for Section 3, Charlton Pollard for an additional year as allowed by the contract; and, WHEREAS, Yardboy Lawncare Service submitted the next lowest qualified bid in the estimated amount of $75,333.00 for Section 3, Charlton Pollard and currently services Section 1, North East; and, WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that it is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont to approve the re -assignment of Section 3, Charlton Pollard to Yardboy Lawncare Service in the estimated amount of $75,333.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby, in all things, approved and adopted; and, THAT Yardboy Lawncare Service be re -assigned the contract of Section 3, Charlton Pollard for mowing privately -owned developed and vacant properties. The term for the contract extension will begin on November 2, 2016. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 25th day of October, 2016.
