Prior to performing a skill in the field, BFR personnel shall demonstrate competency in the skill to the satisfaction of the Medical Director or his designee. 11. Basic life Support Interventions (ECA/EMT • Oxygen administration • Use of airway adjuncts, including: o Oral and nasal airways o Bag valve mask device o Oral suctioning • CPR • Vital signs including Temperature Assessment • Patient assessment • Bandaging and splinting • Traction splinting • Spinal movement restriction • Manual techniques for: o Airway provision, maintenance and ventilatory support o Relief of airway obstruction, as described by the American Heart Association o Control of external hemorrhage • Use of the pulse oximeter • Labor and Delivery • Blood glucose determination • Oral administration of glucose* • Automatic external defibrillator use* • Nitroglycerin (Assist with their prescribed medication)* • Use of metered dose inhalers for the administration of bronchodilator medications* ndo seine s: Daridush Kavaspour, MD Medical Director BBMS/BFRS s/2 z- J - Date Signed • Epinephrine administration via auto -injector device* • Aspirin* • Levalbuterol* *Optional, if available.
