Louise Loomis was a native of Kellerville and lived in
Beaumont for 45 years. She served as an officer for the League of
Women voters and as a member of the Beaumont Library Commission
since 1965. Ms. Loomis was a retired Chemist for Mobil Oil. As a
genealogist and historian, she published a history of her family.
Water conservation appeared to be Louise Loomis' main interest, as
this subject dominates the collection.
This collection is organized by the following series:
government publications, Beaumont League of Women voters records,
Library Commission material, genealogical material. The researcher
will find library commission material most comprehensive,
particularly commission minutes and library director's reports. The
bulk of the collection covers Loomis' interest in water
conservation.
