This collection predominantly emphasizes families that emigrated to the British North American southern colonies from Western Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries. Alma Griffin's intuitiveness in the process of acquiring materials will aide fellow genealogists in researching their family heritage. Many years were devoted to comprising correspondence, research and record gathering. The focus of this collection is on relatives, allied families, and friends of Alma Griffin. The inventory includes a list of over 200 surnames investigated by Alma Griffin. Families of considerable interest within this collection are Doughty, Griffin, and Hurst.
