WHEREAS, the lawsuit styled Erik Kvarme, et al v. The City of Beaumont, et al,
Cause No. D-179,887, was discussed in Executive Session properly called and held
Tuesday, September 15, 2015; and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager is requesting authority to settle this lawsuit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT.-
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to settle the lawsuit
styled Erik Kvarme, et al v. The City of Beaumont, et al, Cause No. D-179,887, for the
sum of One Hundred Thirty -Five Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($135,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute all documents related to settlement of the lawsuit.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 13th day of
October, 2015.
