WHEREAS, the' lawsuit styled Jay Brocato and. wife Valerie Brocato, Individually
and As Next Friends of Macy Brocato, A Minor vs. The City of Beaumont, Texas, Cause
No. D-183,620, was discussed in Executive Session properly called and held Tuesday,
December 2, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, the City Attorney is requesting authority to settle this lawsuit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby,
in all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Attorney be, and he 'is hereby, authorized to settle the lawsuit
styled Brocato and wife Valerie Brocato, Individually and As Next Friends of Macy
Brocato, A Minor vs. The City of Beaumont, Texas, Cause No. D-183,620 for the sum of
Thirty Thousand Four Hundred Forty and 54/100 Dollars ($30,440.54); and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City. Manager be and he is hereby
authorized to execute all documents related to settlement of the lawsuit.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 25th day of
August, 2015.
