HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 15-066RESOLUTION NO.15-066 WHEREAS, on September 25, 2012, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas passed Resolution No. 12-225 authorizing the City Manager to execute a Performance Contract with Johnson Controls, Inc., in the amount of $14,487,402, for installation and implementation of an Automated Metering and Leak Detection Infrastructure for the Water Utilities Department; and, WHEREAS, on August 26, 2014, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas passed Resolution No. 14-181 authorizing Change Order No. 1, in the amount of $606,962, for replacement of one thousand two hundred eighty-three (1,283) 1" water meters with a credit for register retrofit of one thousand two hundred eighty-three (1,283) 1" meters; replacement of one hundred thirty-four (134) 1.5" water meters with a credit for register retrofit of one hundred thirty-four (134) 1.5" meters; and, replacement of three hundred eighty-nine (389) 2" water meters with a credit for. register retrofit of three hundred eighty-nine (389) 2" meters, thereby increasing the contract amount to $15,094,364; and, WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2, in the net amount of $205,931.14, is required to dig up, replace, or re -plumb eight thousand forty-nine (8,049) existing meter boxes; replacement of equipment damaged after installation; and, final reconciliation of meter replacements and retrofits, thereby increasing the contract amount to $15,300,295.14; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT: THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in all things, approved and adopted; and, THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 for additional work -described above, thereby increasing the contract amount by $205,931.14 for a total contract amount of $15,300,295.14 for the Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Project. 2015.
