WHEREAS, on December 10, 2002, City Council approved Ordinance No. 02-089
granting IESI-TX Corporation a franchise to operate a solid waste collection and
transportation service within the City of Beaumont; and,
WHEREAS, on June 20, 2012, IESI-TX Corporation officially changed its name to
Progressive Waste Solutions of TX, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, IESI-TX Corporation has requested that its franchise be transferred to
Progressive Water Solutions of TX, Inc.; and
WHEREAS,an amendmentto Ordinance No.02-089 is required to transferthe solid
waste franchise from IESI-TX Corporation to Progressive Waste Solutions of TX, Inc.;and,
WHEREAS, all provisions of Ordinance No. 02-089 will remain applicable to
Progressive Waste Solutions of TX, Inc. after the transfer;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in
all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT Ordinance No. 02-089 is amended to allow for the transfer of the solid waste
franchise from IESI-TX Corporation to Progressive Waste Solutions of TX, Inc.; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT all provisions of Ordinance No. 02-089 will
remain applicable to Progressive Waste Solutions of TX, Inc. after the transfer.
