WHEREAS,on June,5,2012,the City Council of the City of Beaumont,Texas, passed
Resolution No. 12-124 awarding a contract in the amount of $1,780,000 to N & T
Construction Company, Inc., of Beaumont, Texas, for the construction of a Communications
Building; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1, in the amount of $18,588.99, is required for the
elimination of a 100 linear foot concrete retaining wall on the east side of the building and the
addition of an earthen barrier wall on the east side of the building and a concrete bunker on
the southeast corner of the site, thereby increasing the contract amount to $1,798,588.99;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in all
things, approved and adopted;
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No.
1 for additional work described above,thereby increasing the contract amount by$18,588.99
and an additional eight(8)calendar days for a total contract amount of$1,798,588.99 for the
construction of a Communications Building.
