WHEREAS,bids were solicited for an annual contract for the purchase of ready-mix
concrete and related materials for use by multiple City departments for general
construction, street repair/replacement and water and sewer projects; and,
WHEREAS,Transit Mix, Inc.,of Beaumont,Texas, submitted a bid in the estimated
amount of $555,950delivered/$434,700 pickup for the purchase of ready-mix concrete,
cement stabilized base, and miscellaneous heavy materials as shown below; and,
WHEREAS, Knife River, Inc., of Beaumont, Texas, submitted a bid in the estimated
amount of$21,000 delivered/$17,000 pickup forthe purchase of limestone base materials
as shown below:

and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Transit Mix, Inc.
for ready-mix concrete,cement stabilized base and miscellaneous heavy materials and the
bid submitted by Knife River for limestone base materials should be accepted; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in
all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the bid submitted by Transit Mix, Inc., of Beaumont, Texas, for ready-mix
concrete, cement stabilized base and miscellaneous heavy materials in the estimated
amount of$555,950 delivered/$434,700 pickup and the bid submitted by Knife River, of
Beaumont, Texas, for limestone base materials in the estimated amount of $21,000
delivered/$17,000 pickup be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 27th day of
