WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the purchase of two (2)used cement mixer trucks
for use by the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, Knife River,of Beaumont,Texas,submitted a bid for a 2005 Mack Granite
cement mixer truck in the amount of$33,333.33 as shown below; and,
WHEREAS, Chaparral Concrete Equipment, L.P., of Grapevine, Texas, submitted a
bid for a 2005 International Paystar 56001 cement mixer truck in the amount of$57,800.00
and a 2007 International Paystar 5600i cement mixer truck in the amount$87,800.00;and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Knife River, of
Beaumont, Texas, for the 2005 Mack Granite cement mixer truck in the amount of
$33,333.33 and the bid submitted by Chaparral Concrete Equipment, L.P., of Grapevine,
Texas, for the 2005 International Paystar 5600i cement mixer truck in the amount of
$57,800.00cepted; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in
all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the bid submitted by Knife River, of Beaumont, Texas, for the 2005 Mack
Granite cement mixer truck in the amount of $33,333.33 and the bid submitted by
Chaparral Concrete Equipment, L.P., of Grapevine, Texas, for the 2005 International
Paystar 5600i cement mixer truck in the amount of$57,800.00 be accepted by the City of
Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 20th day of
September, 2011.
