WHEREAS, the lawsuit styled Kimberly Thibodeaux vs. Frank Jackson and City of
Beaumont, Cause No.A-188,592 was discussed in Executive Session properly called and
held Tuesday, March 22, 2011; and,
WHEREAS, the Council desires to authorize the settlement of the lawsuit styled
Kimberly Thibodeaux vs. Frank Jackson and City of Beaumont, Cause No. A-188,592;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the statements and findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby, in
all things, approved and adopted; and,
THAT the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to settle the lawsuit styled
Kimberly Thibodeaux vs. Frank Jackson and City of Beaumont, Cause No.A-188,592,for
the sum of Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000) as follows: Seven Thousand Dollars
($7,000) to Intervener BISD and Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000) to Plaintiff Kimberly
Thibodeaux and her attorney Tom Oxford.
