WHEREAS, on April 20, 2010, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
passed Resolution No. 10-102 awarding a contract in the amount of $924,623 with
Horseshoe Construction, Inc., La Porte, Texas, for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation of
Small Diameter Mains Contract-XVI I I; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $213,264 is required for extra
work to furnish all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to slipline approximately
1,620 linear feet of 15-inch sanitary sewer lines with 12-inch DR-17 HDPE, open cut
approximately 493 linear feet of 15-inch DR-17 HDPE sanitary sewer lines, furnish and
install one manhole at the connection point to the existing 30-inch sanitary sewer line,
furnish and maintain traffic control for 11 to Street,remove and replace four existing sanitary
sewer manholes, replace ten 4-inch short side service connections into the sliplined pipe,
clean and televise approximately 1,620 linear feet of existing deteriorated lines for slipliner
pipe, post televise 2,116 linear feet of rehabilitated sanitary sewer lines and increasing the
contract time by 75 calendar days for a total of 275 calendar days and thereby increasing
the contract amount to $1,137,887;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1
increasing the contract amount by $213,264 for a revised total amount of$1,137,887 for
the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation of Small Diameter Mains Contract-XVI I I Project.
