WHEREAS, on December 23, 2008, the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
Texas, passed Resolution No. 08-350 awarding a contract in the amount of$488,907.51
with Placo, Ltd., Lumberton, Texas, for the Proposed Ammonia System Addition for Loeb
Water Plant Project; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of$43,969.21 is required for extra
work to include furnishing of all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to install an
elevated steel access platform and additional sample line for the existing ground storage
tank,changing the size of the LAS flow meters, providing touch screen controls for existing
SCADA equipment, improving the existing limestone plant roads, replacing damaged
conduits to the existing ground storage tank, and increasing the contract time by 75
calendar days for a total of 275 calendar days, thereby increasing the contract amount to
$532,876.72;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1
increasing the contract amount by $43,969.21 for a revised total amount of$532,876.72
for the Proposed Ammonia System Addition for Loeb Water Plant Project.
