WHEREAS, bids were solicited for a six (6) month contract for the purchase of
limestone base material for use by the Public Works Department, Streets and Drainage
Division; and,
WHEREAS, Vulcan Materials and Transit Mix, both of Beaumont, Texas, submitted
bids in the unit amounts shown below for an estimated expenditure of $74,950:

and
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the proposals submitted by Vulcan
Materials for on-site material delivery and Transit Mix for plant pickup of material should be
accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bids submitted by Vulcan Materials and Transit Mix for six-month contracts for the
purchase of limestone base material in the unit amounts shown above, for an estimated
expenditure of $74,950, for use by the Public Works Department, Streets and Drainage
Division, be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 22nd day of
September, 2009.
