WHEREAS, on June 2, 2009, the City Council of the City of Beaumont, Texas,
passed Resolution No. 09-158 awarding a contract in the amount of $348,062.75 to
Horseshoe Construction, Inc., of LaPorte, Texas, for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation of
Small Diameter mains Contract - XV; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amountof$38,369 is required for extra work
to rehabilitate approximately 700 linear feet of 10-inch sanitary sewer lines, remove and
replace two manholes, clean and televise 700 linear feet of damaged lines, post televise
700 linearfeet of rehabilitated lines, replace 18 service connections,thereby increasing the
contract amount to $386,431.75;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1
for additional work described above, thereby increasing the contract amount by $38,369
for a total contract amount of$386,431.75.
