WHEREAS, bids were requested for a six (6) month contract for the purchase of
five hundred (500)dry tons of sodium hydroxide for use by the Water Utilities Department
to purify the City's water supply; and,
WHEREAS,Thatcher Company of Salt Lake City, Utah, submitted a bid at the fixed
unit rate of$767 per dry ton for a total cost of$383,500; and;
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Thatcher
Company of Salt Lake City, Utah, should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Thatcher Company of Salt Lake City, Utah, for the purchase
of 500 dry tons of sodium hydroxide at the fixed unit rate of$767 per dry ton for a total cost
of$383,500 be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 10th day of
February, 2009.
