Whereas, after conferring with weather officials both regionally and with the National
Hurricane Center as well as local emergency management officials and the
Disaster District Chair(DDC) in Beaumont, TX concerning the current forecast
and track of Hurricane Gustav; now,
Therefore, at 1200 PM tomorrow 31 August 2008, I, Mayor Becky Ames hereby order a
mandatory evacuation of all Citizens of the City of Beaumont. There will be an
incremental mandatory evacuation of the Jefferson County area starting in Sabine
Pass at 6:00 a.m., Port Arthur at 8:00 a.m. ,Nederland, Port Neches, and Groves
at 10:00 a.m.; and Beaumont at 12:00 noon.
ORDERED this the 30th day of August, 2008 @ 2200 hours
