RESCINDING ORDER OF MANDATORY EVACUATION
WHEREAS, pursuant to §418.108 of the Texas Government Code, the Mayor of the
City of Beaumont on the 30th day of August 2008 ordered the mandatory evacuation of
the citizens from the City of Beaumont due to the imminent threat to public safety posed
by Hurricane Gustav; and
WHEREAS, the conditions posing the threat to the preservation of life and property in
the city have ceased to exit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED
BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, TEXAS:
That the mandatory evacuation previously ordered for the City of Beaumont is and it is
hereby rescinded by this proclamation and shall become effective at 06:00 a.m.
September 2, 2008.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of September, 2008.
