ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 08-015 TO REVISE THE
BOUNDARIES OF NEIGHBORHOOD
EMPOWERMENT ZONE #2 TO INCLUDE AN
AREA OF LAND ALONG WASHINGTON
BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 08-015 passed on February 12, 2008, the City
Council of the City of Beaumont designated Neighborhood Empowerment Zones #1 and
#2; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to amend the boundaries of
Neighborhood Empowerment Zone #2 to include an area of undeveloped land along
Washington Boulevard as described in Exhibit "A" and shown on Exhibit "B" attached
hereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT Ordinance 08-015 be and the same is hereby amended to revise the
boundaries of Neighborhood Empowerment Zone #2 to include an area of undeveloped
land along Washington Boulevard as described in Exhibit "A" and shown on Exhibit "B"
attached hereto.

STARTING from a Point of Beginning(POB)at the intersection of the centerline of the BNSF railroad right-
of-way and the centerline of Washington Boulevard and going in a northeasterly direction along said railroad
right-of-way until reaching the centerline of drainage canal 116 belonging to Drainage District Six;hence
turning and extending easterly along the centerline of said drainage canal 116 r.o.w.until reaching the western
right-of-way line of 7''Street;hence northeasterly across 7''Street to a point on the east right-of-way line
of 7'Street at the northern right-of-way line of Terrell Ave.;hence easterly along said right-of-way line of
Terrell Ave. to 41 Street and continuing on the same course until reaching the eastern right-of-way line of
San Jacinto Street;hence south along said eastern right-of-way line of San Jacinto Street to the northern right-
of-way line of Rockwell Street;hence easterly along said northern right-of-way line of Rockwell Street until
reaching the eastern right-of-way line of Golaid Street;hence south along the eastern right-of-way line of
Golaid Street until reaching the south right-of-way line of Euclid Street;hence westerly along the south right-
of-way line of Euclid Street until reaching the eastern right-of-way line of 4`'Street;hence south along said
eastern right-of-way line of 4'Street until reaching the northern right-of-way line of Cardinal Drive(U.S.69)
and finally the centerline of Cardinal Drive; hence westerly along the centerline of Cardinal Drive until
reaching the centerline of the BNSF railroad rights-of-way and then turning and extending in a northeasterly
direction along said centerline of the BNSF railroad rights-of-way until reaching the northern right-of-way
line of U.S. 69 (Cardinal Drive) and then westward along said right-of-way line of U.S. 69 until over the
centerline of drainage canal 110 belonging to Drainage District Six; hence northward and then eastward
following said centerline of drainage canal 110 until reaching the west right-of-way line of South 11"Street;
hence southward along said right-of-way line of South 11'Street until reaching the south right-of-way line
of Wesport Drive and then southwesterly along said right-of-way line of Wesport Drive until reaching the
north right-of-way line of Washington Blvd. hence continuing on the same heading until reaching the
centerline of Washington Blvd.and then eastward along the centerline of Washington Blvd.until reaching the
centerline of the BNSF railroad right-of-way or the Point of Beginning(POB).
