WHEREAS, bids were solicited for a three (3) month contract for the purchase of
200 gallons of Sodium Hydroxide for use by the Water Utilities Department to purify the
City's water supply; and,
WHEREAS, Simply Aquatics, Inc. of Kirbyville, Texas, submitted a bid at the fixed
unit rate of$995 per ton for a total cost of$199,000; and;
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Simply Aquatics,
Inc. of Kirbyville, Texas, should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Simply Aquatics, Inc. of Kirbyville, Texas, for the purchase of
200 gallons of Sodium Hydroxide at the fixed unit rate of $995 per ton for a total cost of
$199,000 be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 15th day of July,
2008.
