WHEREAS, bids were solicited fora contract to complete the mechanical/electrical
rehabilitation of three (3) pulsator clarifiers, furnish and install the peristatic chemical feed
pumps as obtained from the equipment vendor, install two (2)Owner-furnished packaged
engine generators, metal-clad paralleling switchgear, and associated appurtenances,
repair structural cracks and patch areas of spalled concrete in the three (3) pulsator
clarifiers,construct and complete the new chlorine and chemical feed facilities,remove and
replace two (2) existing 48-inch flow meters and one (1) 30-inch flow meter within existing
meter vaults, demolish and dispose the existing wood/steel walkway bridge and replace
the existing 30-inch ductile iron raw water inlet pipe in three (3) existing pulsator clarifiers
for the proposed Surface Water Treatment Plant Improvements Phase I Project; and,
WHEREAS, Allco, Ltd., Beaumont, Texas, submitted a bid in the amount of
$8,041,191.50; and,
WHEREAS, City Council is of the opinion that the bid submitted by Allco, Ltd.,
Beaumont, Texas, should be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the bid submitted by Allco, Ltd., Beaumont, Texas, for the above described work for
the proposed Surface Water Treatment Plant Improvements Phase I Project in the amount
of$8,041,191.50 be accepted by the City of Beaumont.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 6th day of May,
2008.
