ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE ISSUING AN AMENDED,
SPECIFIC USE PERMIT TO GOSPEL CENTER CHURCH'
LOCATED AT 7575 AND 7595 HIGHWAY 105 TO EXPAND
THE EXISTING BUILDINGS.
WHEREAS, on June 7, 2005, City Council approved Ordinance No. 06-049 issuing
a Specific Use Permit to Gospel Center Church to allow a church in an RM-H (Residential
Multiple Family Dwelling-Highest Density) District located at 7575 and 7595 Highway 105,
being Lots 11-13, Neches Terrace Addition, City of Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas,
containing 2.25 acres, more or less, as described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, the applicant, Gospel Center Church, wishes to expand an additional
8,960 sq. ft. of area to the existing buildings; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Beaumont
considered the request to amend the Specific Use Permit to allow further expansion of the
existing church buildings; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the amendment of such specific
use permit is in the best interest of the City of Beaumont and its citizens, subject to the
hereinafter described conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT:
Section 1.
THAT Ordinance 05-049 be amended by amending the Specific Use Permit to allow further
expansion of the existing church buildings located at 7575 and 7595 Highway 105, is
hereby granted to Gospel Center Church, its legal representatives, successors, and
assigns for that certain tract shown on Exhibit"A"attached hereto and made a part hereof
for all purposes subject to the following conditions:
o Provide an 8'tall wood screening fence along the north property line
for the length of the addition to the existing building.
Section 2.
Notwithstanding the site plan attached hereto as Exhibit"B",the use of the property
hereinabove described shall be in all other respects, subject to all of the applicable
regulations contained in Ordinance 93-24 and the regulations contained in Chapter 30 of
the Code of Ordinances of the City of Beaumont, Texas, as amended.
