WHEREAS, the lawsuit of Erik Kvarme v. The City of Beaumont, et. al., has been
discussed in an Executive Session properly called and held Tuesday, January 15, 2008;
and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to authorize the settlement of the lawsuit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Attorney be, and he is hereby, authorized to settle the lawsuit to provide for
the promotion of a Grade I Officer to the rank of Sergeant.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Beaumont this the 22nd day of
January, 2008.
