WHEREAS, City Council approved Resolution No. 05-268 on December 20, 2005
for the purchase of a fully integrated public safety records management and
computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software and hardware system for the City's Police, Fire
and EMS Departments from SunGard HTE ,OSSI, Inc.,which included Crime Analysis and
Problem Oriented Policing modules; and,
WHEREAS, the Police Department has requested the acquisition of a newly
released Crime Analysis Plus module, a new Gang Tracking module and an additional
mobile computer software license for use in the Incident Command Trailer; and,
WHEREAS, SunGard HTE, OSSI, Inc. has agreed to terminate the licenses and
credit the City the full purchase price of$27,561.02 for the previously purchased modules,
Crime Analysis and Problem Oriented Policing; and,
WHEREAS, the $27,561.02 credit will be applied to the purchase of one (1) Gang
Module in the amount of$9,100 and one (1)Crime Analysis Plus module in the amount of
$25,150 and one (1) mobile computer software license in the amount of $2,990. The
$9,679 difference is to be funded from the Police Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), the
Public Safety Capital Improvement Project(CIP)G12601 and the 2005 Port Security grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the City Council hereby approves the purchase of one (1) Gang Module in the
amount of$9,100, one (1) Crime Analysis Plus module in the amount of$25,150 and one
(1)mobile computer software license for a total cost of$37,240 for the Police Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the remaining $9,679, after the SunGard HTE,
Inc. credit is applied, will be funded from the Police Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) and
the Public Safety Capital Improvement Project (CIP) G12601 and the 2005 Port Security
grant.
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute an
amendment agreement with SunGard HTE terminating the existing licenses and adding
licenses for the new modules hereby authorized for purchase.
