The City Council of the City of Beaumont,Texas, met in a Special session on February 23,2007,
at the City Hall Council Chambers, 801 Main Street, Beaumont, Texas, at 2:00 p.m. to consider
the following:
OPENING
Invocation Pledge of Allegiance Roll Call
Public Comment: Persons may speak on scheduled agenda items 1 and 2
Mayor Goodson called the special council meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.
Mayor Goodson gave the invocation. Councilmember Ames led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll
call was made by Tina Broussard, Deputy City Clerk.
Present at the meeting were Mayor Goodson, Mayor Pro Tern Beaulieu, Councilmembers Smith,
Ames and Patterson. Absent: Councilmember Cokinos and Samuel (Councilmember Samuel
arrived at2:03 p.m.). Also present were Kyle Hayes, City Manager;Tyrone Cooper, City Attorney;
Tina Broussard, Deputy City Clerk.
Public Comments (Persons are limited to three minutes)

Consider matters related to employment, evaluation and duties of a public officer or
employee in accordance with Section 551.074 of the Government Code:

Council recessed into Executive Session at 2:05 p.m.
Council reconvened at 3:00 p.m.

1. Consider the resignation of the City Clerk - Resolution 07-054
Mayor Pro Tern Beaulieu moved to approve RESOLUTION 07-054 THAT THE RESIGNATION OF
ROSE ANN JONES AS CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT IS HEREBY ACCEPTED EFFECTIVE
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2007. Councilmember Ames seconded the motion.
AYES: MAYOR GOODSON,MAYOR PRO TEM BEAULIEU,COUNCILMEMBERS SMITH,
AMES, SAMUEL AND PATTERSON
NAYS: NONE
MOTION PASSED
2. Consider the appointment of an Interim City Clerk - Resolution 07-055
Councilmember Samuel moved to approve RESOLUTION 07-055 THAT THE COUNCIL HEREBY
APPROVE THE APPOINTMENT OF TINA BROUSSARD AS INTERIM CITY CLERK AT THE STARTING
SALARY OF THE CURRENT CITY CLERK. Councilmember Patterson seconded the motion.

NAYS: NONE
MOTION PASSED
There being no other business Council adjourned at 3:04 p.m.
