WHEREAS, by Resolution 06-334 passed on October 31, 2006, the City received
funding in the amount of$1,950,000 from the Office of Rural Community Affairs (ORCA)
to use as part of the local match for the Calder Street Project;
WHEREAS, prior to receipt of the funding from ORCA, the City must certify and
publish in a local newspaper its consent to accept the jurisdiction of the Federal courts if
an action is brought to enforce the responsibilities in relation to environmental reviews,
decision making and action associated with the release of Block Grant funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Beaumont is hereby authorized to certify to the Office of
Rural Community Affairs that the City consents to accept the jurisdiction of the Federal
courts if an action is brought to enforce the responsibilities in relation to environmental
reviews, decision making and action associated with the release of Block Grant funds.
